P.G. Wodehouse Jeeves and Wooster

I realize I might be a late comer to the Jeeves and Wooster British comedy television programme adapted by Clive Exton from P.G. Wodehouse's "Jeeves" stories, but to find a gem like this, it is better late then never.


Of course, I knew of the character Jeeves, from the P.G. Wodehouse's novels, but I had not read any of them. One of my friends twenty two years ago would quote from the Jeeves character and it peaked my interest, but still I remained in the dark on the subject. 


Well recently I was looking for audio books on youtube with the text displayed on the screen, as a way to help my Japanese wife with her study of English, and found "My Man Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse" and a wonderful BBC documentary "P.G. Wodehouse: Life and Works". 

In P.G. Wodehouse: Life and Works, Stephen Fry the very funny actor, talks about being a great fan of Wodehouse and that he was also in the television programme Jeeves and Wooster. I did a search for the show and voila many of the episodes are one youtube ( too bad they are cut into segments!).  

I have always enjoyed British comedy, like Keeping Up Appearances, Are you Being Served?, Dad's Army, to name a few, but was unaware of Jeeves and Wooster. Well one short segment latter and I'm hooked. 

I have ordered the Jeeves and Wooster The Complete Series and will used the blog to talk about and share some my enjoyment of the show and the works of P.G. Wodehouse.
